Description
Downloadable DIY plans with step-by-step instructions on how to construct a strong outdoor farmhouse style table capable of seating 12 people.
Note: The plans do not include any seats. Only the table.
At 8ft (2439mm) long and 39-1/2" (1003mm) wide, it is inexpensive to make and is a simple construction.
The downloadable PDF file contains 17 pages that include plans, pictures, drawings, a shopping list, a cutting list, and easy to follow step-by-step building instructions.
All measurements in this project are given in both inches (standard) and metric (mm) units.
The materials you will need
In this case, I went treated pine:
4x4 (100 x100mm) sawn lumber for the legs - which I ripped down to 3x3 (75 x75mm),
2x4 (50 x 100mm) sawn lumber for the frame,
and I found a good deal on 2nd grade dressed 1-1/2" x 7-1/2" (38mm x 190mm) boards for the tabletop.
Fixings
Use an exterior type structural wood screw such as HeadLOK screws, or galvanized bugle head batten screws, or whatever similar type of exterior structural wood screw you are able to source.
Screws you will need...
24 only @ 6" (150mm) long for the frame
48 only @ 5" (125mm) long for the tabletop boards
16 only @ 4" (100mm) long for the corner braces
A great project to make.
