Description
Plans for this metamorphic wooden 4-seater folding picnic table that can be converted into a 2-seater bench seat.
The downloadable PDF file contains 26 pages and includes plans, pictures, drawings, shopping and cutting list, step-by-step building instructions.

The design features a wider tabletop compared to previous versions and is a perfect size for folding back into a bench seat and placing against a wall when not in use. The table measures 23-3/4″ (605mm) wide and 51-1/2″ (1310mm) long, with a height of 31-1/2″ (800mm) and an overall width of 52″ (1320mm) when in picnic table mode.

All dimensions are provided in both standard inches and metric units.
The plans offer two options for lumber size to build the table, either using 1-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ (32 x 89mm) for the frame and 1-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (32 x 140mm) for the seat and tabletop boards, or using 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ (38 x 89mm) for the frame and 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ (38 x 140mm) for the seat and tabletop boards. The instructions are written to accommodate both thicknesses.

In total, building the table will require 30ft (9 metres) of lumber for the frame and 36ft (11 metres) for the seat and tabletop boards.

To complete the task, you will require the following materials:
Four carriage/coach bolts that are 3/8" (10mm) in diameter and 3" (75mm) long, along with washers and self-locking nuts.
A total of 80 exterior-type wood screws that are 3" (75mm) long.
Exterior wood glue should also be included.
