Description
This 8 seater picnic table can be dismantled and reassembled in under 10 minutes - or as quick as it takes you to undo and redo eight bolts.
These downloadable plans provide instructions for building a wooden picnic table that can be taken apart and put back together easily. The plans include 15 pages of drawings, step-by-step instructions, and pictures. The measurements are given in both standard and metric units.
The table can be disassembled and reassembled quickly, with just eight bolts to remove and replace. It can even be broken down into a flat pack and transported in a small car. The design features appropriate screws and double horizontal rails at each end, making the table very sturdy without the need for braces.
The side frames, seats, and table are constructed separately and can be bolted together easily. The rails are made of 2x4 (50x100mm) rough sawn wood, while the rest of the table is made of dressed 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" (38mm x 140mm) stock. The table is 67" (1700mm) wide by 79" (2000mm) long and stands 30" (760mm) high, with a tabletop area of 33" (840mm) wide by 79" (2000mm) .
To build the table, you will need 30 feet of 2x4 (50x100mm) rough sawn wood and 90 feet of 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" wood, along with galvanized bugle head batten screws, exterior wood screws, and galvanized coach/carriage bolts with nuts and washers in various lengths.
